Life in my village series (With Frame)
Product Description
This painting depicts life in an African Village, the buildings are usually made of Huts made from baked bricks with thatch roofs. Life in a typical African village is like routine, they carry out the same activities everyday without being bored or tired of them. Most African villages have their own calendars, with 8 days instead of 7 and people are not allowed to farm on 2 or 3 of those days.
Since most Africans live on subsistence farming or fishing (for the riverine areas) the adults leave their homes very early in the morning for their farms, while others go to hunt, tap palm wine and fish.
The women sell food stuff and vegetables in the market on market days. The family converge home at sunset. The women then cook the meal for the day and the family gather round a fire to eat and share tales of the day”s experiences
